How much is a Heinz Field parking pass?
$83.46, which is 11th-lowest, and 29% below league average.
Specifically, that’s the median cheapest price, on average, for on-site parking for a Steelers game on the secondary market as of July 31.
Inasmuch as there are several ways of looking at this, let’s examine 2 point of views:
- View #1 – Pittsburgh Steelers fans are among the most devoted in all of sports. Many teams have super fans, but the Steelers arguably have more than most. Pointedly, at 29% below average, these uber-fans see $83 as an uber-bargain. Additionally, the word “priceless” comes to mind, effectively minimizing virtually any price point.
- View #2 – Even devoted followers have budgets, so this group will view $83 as too much to pay amid the Biden-flation.
Indeed, whatever your point of view, there are some things you should be cognizant of, before making a decision.
So first…
The bad news
All official Heinz Field event parking – that is, the red, blue, & gold lots – are sold out waaay in advance.
So if being squeezed out of the red & blue lots makes you turn red or feel blue, or you just want to go for the gold (lot), well you can just forget it.
Resale prices for gold lot passes can easily reach hundreds of dollars for certain games.
And the good news
Whether you choose to get an official Pittsburgh Steelers parking pass or opt for an off-site lot, you can save 40% or more with minimal effort.
Additionally, you get to do so without sacrificing your God-given right to tailgate.
In any event, you can improve on the mediocre value score for Heinz Field parking by saving a nice chunk of change.
On-site Heinz Field parking
As mentioned earlier, the median cheapest available Steelers parking pass is currently $87.
However, you can save an average of 22%, or $18.46, by simply using the right ticket site.

Off-site Steelers parking
There are plenty of spaces in the lots on the other side of the Allegheny River that will charge you as little as 5 bucks even for event parking, and all of them are within a short walk to the Port Authority rail lines that are within the free-fare zone.
So while you won’t be able to tailgate in these places and you will be a bit farther from the stadium, you won’t have to deal with the nightmarish gridlock when exiting the North Shore parking lots.
And, of course, you’ll also save some money that you can use for other things, like a Primanti Bros. sandwich or a ride on the Allegheny Wharf Water Limo.
The bottom line? If you want cheap parking near Acrisure Stadium, you’re going to have to make some sacrifices, such as tailgating. Now if the mere thought of giving up this second pastime/tradition makes you hyperventilate, well… I’m not suggesting you give it up permanently, I’m merely saying that forgoing it even once will possibly save you 100 bucks.
