If you don’t use offsite Metlife Stadium parking for Jets and Giants games…
Then here are 3 reasons to reconsider:
- Money
- Value
- Health
Money
This part applies mainly to Jets fans. Reason being, while Jets parking passes on the secondary market are traditionally more expensive than the Giants, respective off-site prices are generally the same. Notably, this meant an average savings of over 50% in 2019, and +60% in 2021.
Value
The value score for Metlife Stadium parking passes for both the Giants & Jets was 14 in 2019, with 13 being average. Thus far in 2021, the value score for the Giants is 16, and the Jets, 11.
Basically, what this means is that, in the case of Jets on-site parking, you’re not getting your money’s worth.

Health
Yes, health. Even your typical traffic jams are bad for you. And the exit traffic from Metlife is especially horrific. What makes it so bad? For starters, there’s the number of parking spaces – 28,000, which is about 5K more than average.
Then, you have additional traffic generated by a nightmarish number of vehicles trying to enter Manhattan via the nearby Lincoln Tunnel & George Washington Bridge. Incidentally, aside from rush hour, this traffic is at its worst during Sunday afternoons & evenings.

Of course, if you opt for offsite Metlife Stadium parking, you’ll still have to deal with bridge & tunnel jams. But at least you’ll avoid the stadium exit traffic. After all, do you really want 30 minutes of this?
As if air pollution wasn’t enough, there’s more. Being subjected to profanity, obscene gestures, honking horns, and near-misses with buses can cause your blood pressure to soar.
Best offsite MetLife Stadium parking alternatives
So, if you’d rather not risk your well being and save a little cash as well, here are the top offsite Metlife Stadium parking spots:
$53
Redd’s Restaurant & Bar, 317 Washington Ave, Carlstadt. What used to be a true bargain is now just $10 cheaper than stadium parking for Jets games, on average. Free shuttle ride & appetizer. Learn more about Redd’s.
$24.50
Edison Park Fast Park ‘n’ Ride, 675 New County Road Secaucus. It will cost you $20 for a space and $4.50 for rail fare to the stadium at this New Jersey Transit depot in nearby Secaucus. No tailgating allowed.
$19 & up
Icon Parking. If you’re traveling to the game from Long Island then crossing that second bridge may just be more than you can take. Instead, you can find cheap parking in midtown Manhattan (yes, you read that right) by using Icon Parking Systems. You will see a lot of listings for over $20, $30, & even $50, but keep looking, the ones for under 20 bucks are there.
$10
Hampton Inn, 304 Paterson Plank Rd., Carlstadt. For just $2 an hour, you can find game day parking right on the other side of Route 120. Be advised however, that because…
- There is no stadium shuttle, and
- Walking isn’t an option (since Paterson Plank Rd. isn’t traversable on foot, it would take nearly an hour to hoof it).
You’ll still need a ride to MetLife Stadium.
Free
Stop and Shop, 625 Paterson Ave, Carlstadt. The #160 & #703 buses stop right there. I can’t really condone this, so unless you’re a broke college student and/or unemployed and you just happened to luck into some free Giants or Jets tickets you have little excuse to park here. Unless of course you really are out of work…
Hilton Meadowlands, 2 Meadowlands Plaza, E Rutherford. There is no valet parking so they usually don’t check the cars at this hotel that’s located just on the other side of Route 3. Again, not recommended for obvious reasons and because if you do park here then it’ll be quite an adventure crossing Route 3 on foot.
Alas, while these money-saving options sound great, they’re extremely hard to come by. Chances are that your only viable choice for game day parking will be…
Gold parking for Metlife Stadium
Prices for official Metlife Stadium Gold parking passes on the secondary market are quite reasonable for both the Giants & Jets.
Median cheapest parking for the Jets & Giants (as of late July) were $77 and $45, respectively.
While both figures are well below league average, you’ll still come across some eye-popping listings:
Thankfully, there are sites like TickPick, where a Gold parking pass won’t cost you 7 ounces of actual gold:
TickPick (Lowest median price) | Vs. other ticket sites | Vs. Redd’s | |
---|---|---|---|
NY Jets parking | $63 | -28% ($24.13) | +18.9% ($10) |
NY Giants parking | $36 | -21% ($9.56) | -32% ($17) |
